The Maximum Fighting Championship has announced that the promotion’s top ranked lightweight, Ben Henderson, has pulled out of his Sept. 26th showdown with MFC newcomer Joe Heiland. Replacing Henderson will be Donald Sanchez.
No specific reason was given regarding Henderson’s absence but the article on MaximumFighting.com was titled “Henderson Cowards; Sanchez Steps Up To Face Heiland at MFC: Famous”.
Just over a month ago, the MFC brass announced that they had signed Heiland to a three-fight contract. Heiland owns an unblemished mixed martial arts record of 4-0. Heiland has scored stoppage victories over David Sluss, Jacob Eaton, and Frank Casaballa.
Henderson’s replacement, Donald Sanchez, possesses a mixed martial arts record of 13-7. Sanchez trains out of FitNHB with WEC welterweight champion Carlos Condit and holds victories over Jason Maxwell, Ryan McGillivray, and William “The Bull” Sriyapai.
