MMAWeekly.com is reporting that Canadian middleweight Jason “Dooms” Day has suffered an injury forcing him to withdraw from his September 6th showdown with Jason “The Punisher” Lambert. Day’s replacement will be fellow Canadian Jason MacDonald.

According to the report, Day suffered an elbow and biceps injury which will require him to undergo an MRI.

Sportsnet.ca caught with Day who discussed his current state:

“There is no range of motion in my arm, I can’t rotate it all,” said Day when describing his injury.

“There’s always a silver lining”, said Day as things happen for a reason. “(Wednesday) I have another appointment but I’m not sure what’s in store after that.”

UFC 88: Breakthrough is scheduled for Sept. 13, 2008 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

MacDonald is certainly a warrior, and for him to have even had Maia in trouble once or twice on the ground in his last fight, he showed some serious skills. He might be an even more dangerous opponent for Lambert than Day was, because if it goes to the ground, Day can end it fast. Let’s just hope he doesn’t try to stand and swing with The Punisher, though. He’s got power.

And let’s all hope “Dooms” gets better soon. That injury doesn’t sound good, but at least he still has some cred with the UFC…
