In a recent chat with TKO heavyweight Scott Wright, TKO Xtreme learned that the Moncton, New Brunswick native will be making to trek to LaSalle, Quebec to train with Team Bergeron.

“I’m moving to Montreal to get refocused and train fulltime for a while. My new sponsor is also in Montreal. I have put aside enough to live for a few months and I am going to stop working 40 hrs a week and training 30 and focus on just training fulltime.”

“I chose Team Bergeron as they have been great to me at past events, have many great fighters and a great attitude and I know with them I will feel supported, which is key to my confidence.”

Wright, formerly of Team Saigo, has amassed a professional MMA record of 1-2 while training with the likes of Rene Allain, Brad Duguay, Jon McGrath and James Saunders. Wright made his MMA debut in November 2007 where he scored a TKO over UFC veteran Geza Kalman at UGC 19: TKO Night. Wright has fought twice since dropping bouts to Ben Gallant and Gregory Milliard.

While Wright has dropped his past two bouts, he still approaches the game with an incredible mindset. Wright told TKO Xtreme, “I am excited for the opportunity to come up and get some much needed training to get me back on the winning side of things. I have all the drive, skill, and motivation but will be getting a little more guidance which is key to success.”

After a brief stint at light heavyweight, Wright will be making his return to heavyweight at Absolute Fighting Canada 2: Bigger and Badder on May 31, 2008 in Moncton, New Brunswick. Wright’s opponent will be John Hachey, a 2-0 heavyweight with stoppage victories over Jeff Lundberg and Brandon “The Brick” Curts.
