Leben Out, Jason Day to Face Bisping

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has officially announced that Canadian-fighter Jason “Dooms” Day will replace Chris Leben and face Michael “The Count” Bisping at UFC 85: Bedlam.

The news comes following Leben’s withdrawl when he was sentenced to 35 days in an Oregon jail. Leben turned himself in to Calckamas County officials last week in order to fix a probation violation on a 2005 DUI conviction. According to UFC.com, Leben was in the process of completing the terms of his probation when he moved from Oregon to Hawaii. Leben was unable to complete the terms in Hawaii so he was forced to turn himself in the past week.

Jason Day is entering the bout with a UFC record of 1-0. Day made his UFC debut in April at UFC 83: Serra vs. St. Pierre II dispatching of Alan “The Talent” Belcher. Day has expressed his interest in a bout with Bisping on numerous occasions.
