Doerksen Latest UFC Casualty

After dropping his third straight contest, Joe Doerksen has been released from his UFC contract. James Brydon of Sportsnet.ca broke the story.

The first loss of his losing streak came at the hands of Paulo Filho in a battle for the vacant WEC middleweight title last August.

It’s the second time in the career of the Winnipeg native that he’s dropped three in a row.

Although the last time it happened (capped by a 2002 loss to David Loiseau) he responded by ripping off ten straight victories, including a first round submission win over Denis Kang.

Can’t say I’m shocked but I will admit I do feel bad for Doerksen. The guy has all the skill in the world but can never deliver on the big stage.
