UFC 83: Serra vs. St. Pierre II Only 24 Hours Away

The Bell Centre 24 hours before UFC 83: Serra vs. St. Pierre II.
Today the Ultimate Fighting Championship successfully held the weigh-ins for UFC 83: Serra vs. St. Pierre II in what turned out of be a record setting crowd. More than 4,000 fans showed up to support their favorite UFC fighters, all of whom made weight.
Note from the weigh-ins:
After exchanging verbal jabs on Sportsnet.ca, Joe Doerksen and Jason MacDonald hit the scales and took part in what turned out to be a heated stare-down. Both fighters exchanged some words before making their way off the stage.
Sam “Hands of Stone” Stout, a native of London, Ontario, Rich “Ace” Franklin, Jonathan “The Road Warrior” Goulet and Jason MacDonald all received strong ovations as they made their ways to the scale.
Things got a little heated when Michael “The Count” Bisping and Charles “Chainsaw” McCarthy got face-to-face, literally, and began to exchange words before being separated by UFC president Dana White and company. Their beef, much like MacDonald and Doerksen, stems from McCarthy trashing Bisping on the internet.
Finally the main-event event saw both fighters receive deafening ovations, St. Pierre’s positive and Serra’s negative, as the 4,000 Canadian faithfuls rose from their respective seats. For those of you who only saw the UFC.com weigh-in video, trust me when I tell you the arena was deafening. Mike Goldberg took the microphone and attempted to interview Matt Serra but not a single word was heard as Serra’s voice was drowned out with a course of boos.
The Fight Network’s Mauro Ranallo was on hand providing the peeps with The Fight Network’s knockout news.

The above photo is Mauro Ranallo hitting take one (ten) of the knockout news.
If a Montreal Canadiens playoff game is any indication, be prepared for mayham tomorrow night as the UFC takes to the Bell Centre.

I can’t tell you how jealous I am that you’re there, and I’m on the west coast. We’ll all be watching come fight time, but all the same… even BC is jazzed for this.
The crowd here is absolutely insane. I’ve been to sporting events at the Air Canada Centre and it doesn’t even compare.
Hopefully I can get back on after the fights tonight, I’ve been having issues charging the laptop.
