MMAHitlist.com Launches Objective Ranking System for Mixed Martial Arts

MMAHitlist.com (http://www.mmahitlist.com) is proud to announce its launch as the first objective ranking system of its kind for mixed martial artists. MMAhitlist.com applies a standard set of formulas to each competitors’ resume to produce a statistic called the Fighter Value. The Fighter Value is measured against the other competitors’ Fighter Values within the same weight class to provide the MMAhitlist.com rankings. Universally applied criteria to the UFC’s competitors presents BJ Penn, Matt Serra, Anderson Silva, Quinton Jackson, and Antonio Nogueira as ranked first in their respective weight divisions coincidental to their holding championship belts in those divisions.

MMAhitlist.com currently provides MMA fans and media with an unbiased analysis of the UFC’s competitors using universally applied criteria free from the prejudices inherent in subjective poll ranking systems. Users are invited to use these objective ratings to better inform their own subjective opinions and rankings.

It has been often repeated that Mixed Martial Arts is like kinetic chess. As such, the Elo system used to rate chess players has been used as a starting point to create MMAhitlist.com’s rating system. However, the criteria of win / loss has been augmented with additional criteria such as finish victory or loss and the rarity of a finish in the respective weight division, unanimous decision or split decision, or draw, the opponent’s fighter value, how recent the fights being considered occurred, how recent the fight has occurred in that competitor’s resume, whether the fight occurred in the same or a different weight class from the weight class the fighter value is being provided, at what place in the fight card the fight occurred as well as what type of fight card, and whether the fight was for a title. These criteria are standardized and applied universally to all competitors without prejudice.

Users of the website may also create their own Fighter Banners for their own websites and social networking sites, featuring rankings and Fighter Values for individual fighters that are automatically updated to be current at all times.

Currently focused on the UFC, MMAhitlist.com is looking to expand to other organizations using the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts.

For more information on MMAHitlist.com, its criteria and formulas please visit http://www.mmahitlist.com/welcome/about or email info@mmahitlist.com.

Ford Finishes Spratt at MFC 15

On Friday night, Ryan “The Real Deal” Ford secured the most significant victory of his young mixed martial arts career submitting UFC veteran Pete Spratt in the second round of their welterweight showdown. The first round saw Ford looking for the takedown while Spratt continuously tried to defend. The chess match took place for the majority of the round aside from 2-3 solid head kicks landed by Spratt. Some controversy ensued at the end of the first round. The bell rang but referee Herb Dean didn’t hear it and because of that, Spratt was nailed with two late shots.

Finally as Dean stepped in, Ford made his way back to his corner while Spratt lay on the canvas visibly shook. Spratt was given time to recover before making his way out for the second stanza. The second round looked a lot like the first and about partway through Ford hopped on Spratt’s back and secured the rear naked choke.

With the victory over Spratt, Ford upped his record to 5-0. After the bout Ford said, “Hey you know, I want to thank god because without him I wouldn’t have this ability. Nine months of training,” Ford proceeded to point in Spratt’s direction and say, “Nine years, you know what I’m saying?”

Prior to the bout both Ford and Spratt exchange pleasantries through the media and when asked if the victory was bittersweet, Ford said, “Oh big time, I came out here and knew what I was doing, I just had to put in the work. He’s a strong guy but not strong enough.”

In the co-main event, UFC veteran Jesse Forbes secured a miraculous comeback to earn the submission victory early in the third round. The first round was a rather slow paced battle which saw Camozzi bloody Forbes early before spending the remainder of the first on his back while Forbes controlled from the top.

The second took a different turn as Camozzi worked his strikes landing a variety of hard kicks, knees, and punches opening another cut on the face of Forbes. Aside from a few takedowns, Forbes did very little while working from the top position.

The tides took a sudden turn in the third round when a visibly battered Jesse Forbes took Camozzi to the canvas before eventually taking his back and transitioning it into an armbar. Camozzi attempted to defend but the submission was too deep and the referee jumped in to call a halt to the action.

After the bout Forbes said, “How about that ass kicking I was getting, did you guys see that? We got into a scramble off one of my takedowns and I ended up taking his back and I jumped over for the armbar and he didn’t follow my hips around so I got the submission tonight. I didn’t have a gameplan to tell you the truth, I was just going to come out, stand up, feel him out and go from there.”

Goodridge Provides Thoughts on Kimbo

In a recent forum post, UFC, PRIDE and K-1 veteran, Gary “Big Daddy” Goodridge had some choice words for EliteXC heavyweight, Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson.

I feel almost disrespected by not at least 95 percent… I would pardon the expression females… I would rape him, turn him over my knee and spank his ass, just for show. He might be tough on the street with 10 yr old girls. And can pay someone to lose to him in the ring. I promise my friends, I will not sell out. I have enough money and I love breaking peoples sand castle. I don’t think the promoter would let me fight him. Like I said he brings money to the event. If he looses it would be devastating to the event right now. Just imagine a tough guy from the streets that looses to nobodies in the ring??? Wouldn’t go well.

Ferguson (2-0) has defeated Bo Cantrell and David Abbott in his two EliteXC outting. Goodridge recently finished the final bout on his K-1 contract and signed a new deal with MFC in Alberta. Goodridge will make his MFC debut on May 9 at MFC 16: Anger Management.

The possibilities of seeing a bout between Kimbo and Goodridge? Highly unlikely.
