Hominick Returning to WEC

Mark “The Machine” Hominick will be making his return to World Extreme Cagefighting on February 13 at the Santa Ana Star Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Hominick will be fighting Josh Grispi (6-1) in a featherweight affair. Grispi has finished all of his fights scoring both submission and knockout victories. Hominick knows what to expect, in a recent sit down with the WEC, Hominick stated Grispi is very aggressive and willing to fight wherever the fight goes.

Hominick has rededicated himself after dropping two consecutive fights to Hatsu Hioki and Rani Yahya. Hominick has spent serious time training with the likes of Sam Stout, Joe Stevenson, Mac Danzig, Gray Maynard, and Mike Pyle at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, Nevada. The diverse training has paid off as Hominick has scored impressive victories over Ben Greer and Danny Martinez which ultimately secured his place back in the WEC.

Hominick told the WEC that he’s got his old style back and 2008 will be his year.

“I’ve went back to my roots,” the 25-year-old said. “I’m getting that aggression back in my style. Hunting down my opponents. I’m back to my aggression and finishing guys.”

“I’ve moved past it,” Hominick said. “I wanted to make a splash in the WEC but I worried too much about what he was going to do to me instead of what I was going to do to him. I was thinking too much.”

“This year is going to be my year,” he said. “I’m just going to prove it against the best. I just want to prove it.”

Along with his return to the WEC, Hominick will be making his way back to Canada to begin teaching at Xtreme Couture in Toronto, Ontario. Hominick will be joining the ranks of Jeff Joslin, Chris Horodecki, Brent Beauparlant, and others as an instructor on the staff. The facility is expected to open within the next few months.
